STORY SYNOPSIS
This musical is based on the classic book by Frances Hogsdon Burnett, and features a Tony Award-winning book and score by Marsha Norman and Lucy Simon. Set in 1906, it tells the moving story of a lonely young orphan named Mary Lennox who is sent to England to live with her widowed uncle after her parents die of cholera in India. Once at Misselthwaite Manor in Yorkshire, England, she finds a house haunted by ghosts from her past who are full of sorrow and secrets. There she also discovers a neglected garden and her sick cousin, and learns to restore both to health and happiness with
care, love, and hope.
This show features songs with a Celtic flavor including It's A Maze This Garden, Winter On The Wing, and Wick, as well as beautiful ballads like Lily's Eyes, Hold On,
The Girl I Mean To Be, and Come To My Garden.
Don't miss this memorable show as performed by OPI's talented teen ensemble and it's inspiring message of family, friendship and renewal!
